Those who do not hear the music, think the dancer to be mad.

What does one even say after a weekend like the one I just had. Dawn Hampton was in Vancouver. I love her, she is such a wonderful and inspirational lady. She gave her usual talk just before the Saturday Night dance. I am not sure how many times I have seen her talk, I have been to Herrang 3 times, each time I went for the whole month. Dawn gives her talk every week to all the students in Herrang. This time is was great because she was in my city, inspiring the dancers in my home. Vancouver needs some life, in its dancing. We have forgotten, we have forgotten the reason that we started. What made us dance in the first place. I doubt that most of us started hoping to be the best dancer on the floor. We started because we loved it. Something reached into our hearts and took hold and we haven't been able to get rid of it since. Some of my best dances this weekend were with dancers that were not technically good dancers, the reason that they were so great is because we were having fun. I can dance technically, but I dance because it is fun. I love it, the people, the music, being able to move my body. As Dawn would say, 'We are blessed'. I am blessed. :)

how many days in a year?

I am supposed to write a bio for my yoga stuff right now, but I do not really know who I am at the moment, so it proving difficult. I am home and feeling lost, nothing to do, hardly working, trying to figure myself out. Living in Coquitlam, my parents will be home soon, and then without a car I will be stuck. I think I should find a place to live in Vancouver or start my evil plans for the fall. I just can not get any work done right now. It seems I have lost my capacity to work for myself. I can still work hard for others, doing things that they need, but when I need to do the same for me I am not such a hard worker. Anyways I am trying to kill time right now, I should get back to work.

if you're cold, i'll lend you my coat.

My family is really great. I love them and am glad that I have them in my life. The other night I went to see my brothers testimony, a testimony is when someone shares the story of their faith. I have heard plenty of these in my time as a catholic, however it becomes different when a family member is on the podium talking. His story is my story, we went through it all together, his experiences affected me because we lived in the same home. We went through teen aged angst together. He was just down the hall. We never really talked about the things that happened to each other as children because we experienced them together we knew all the details of it. To talk about each others feelings around the topic, well that did not really happen. So to hear him speak about our childhood and share it with a room full of people was really moving. He made me remember and made me cry, the non-crier, sitting alone in the pews.

I am proud of him, although I can not tell him this because he would get embarrassed and feel the need to respond in a manly way. I am okay with our difference in beliefs, I am okay with the fact that he will probably try to convert me till the day I die. I am okay with it because he is a good kid, and this path that he has chosen for himself works for and makes him happy.
