the most epic bike ride of your life (or maybe mine)

so i havent been posting on my blog a lot recently because i have been fairly busy and not really near a computer. i realised this the other day when my friend Ed called me and asked what i was doing because, 'it always seems like your running around doing something'. it is true i am always running around doing things, and i really love my life for it. for example the exact same day that ed called i was preparing to embark on the longest bike journey of my life. it was an epic quest from bute and barclay to ocean point, a subdivision right on the water 1/4 of the way to squamish along the sea to sky highway. i rented a bike for my adventure a alloy frame OCR Road Bike, with a shimano break and 27 gear system. i borrowed monicas shimanio clip in shoes and was officially ready for the journey. thank you a lululemon, my 3 years of employment there left me with multiple bike appropriate outfits to wear.

sherry and i biked along marine drive (the link to our adventure is down below) along the water most of the way and i was so beautiful. we were in the shade so the sweltering sun did not bear down on us and my favorite elements, air and water were along side me the whole way there. :) we met a few friendly bikers along the way, and made it the whole way there only stopping once for 5mins to drink some water. this was also my first ride with clips on my shoes and it was amazing! how can i go back to my old steel frame bike with cages i am not really sure. i will have to though because the bike that i rode out there was worth at least $1500. too much for this yoga instructor. the clips and 27 gears helped my climb all the hills! once we got to our destination a beautiful ocean front home, the only glitch of the journey i fell over in the driveway! :) it was great! i think that i lied on the ground for 5mins. then after some snack and water we jumped in the ocean! oh it was so nice after such a long ride, we were so warm.

then sherry taught me how to do a back dive. that is right folks diving into the water backwards not forwards! and i can do it! i cant do a forwards dive but surprisingly enough they backwards ones are a much easier undertaking. :)

after that we ate food with sherry's mom, and did yoga under the stars! it was the best savasana ever! sherry, her mother and i stared up at the sky, which is much more beautiful out there for at least 45mins. after which we packed up our bikes and headed home.

I realised yesterday that we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful city where we can go on these amazing adventures and swim in the ocean. i loved the ocean out there, much nicer than english bay i can assure you. yesterday was the best day i have had in a long time. :) i love my life and my friends. as we were looking up the at stars we saw two shooting starts and i wished that i would always have such great friends in my life. i really am tremendously lucky.
